Farmers and agricultural contractors across the Western Cape can look forward to expanded access to compact machinery and enhanced local support following the announcement that Overberg Agri has officially joined the Wacker Neuson dealer network. The strategic partnership brings together a globally recognized provider of light and compact equipment engineered for efficiency across agriculture, construction, mining, and forestry, with one of South Africa’s most established agricultural service providers.
The collaboration directly addresses the growing demand for efficient, reliable, and versatile machinery to support planting, harvesting, and on-farm infrastructure tasks throughout the province. Initial discussions between the two organizations commenced in August 2025, with both parties formalizing the dealership agreement a month later in September.

He emphasizes that appointing Overberg Agri reflects a deliberate strategy to expand Wacker Neuson’s provincial footprint while pairing innovative technology with a team that deeply understands local market dynamics and operational challenges.
Deep Heritage and Comprehensive Reach
Overberg Agri brings a rich historical foundation to the agreement. Its origins trace back to two of the oldest farmer co-operatives in the region—Caledon Boeren Co-operative, founded in 1918, and Bredasdorp Boeren Co-operative Society, established in 1926. Following conversions to corporate entities in the late 1990s, CRK Landbou and BNK Landbou merged in 2005 to create Overberg Agri Limited. In 2018, the company became the largest subsidiary of the Acorn Agri & Food Group.
With administrative headquarters in Caledon, Overberg Agri’s core operational footprint spans the Overberg, Southern Cape, and Swartland regions, extending services into the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, and Limpopo.

Equipment Lineup and Service Commitment
Overberg Agri’s initial Wacker Neuson offering features a full compact range, including excavators, wheel loaders, and telehandlers. These machines were selected for their proven suitability across agricultural material handling, earthmoving, and on-farm infrastructure projects. As the market develops, Overberg Agri plans to evaluate further additions, including zero-emission electric models such as the EZ17e compact excavator.
To ensure maximum uptime during critical farming windows, Overberg Agri’s Mechanisation Division supports machines through full-service branches in Caledon, Bredasdorp, and Moorreesburg, alongside a showroom in Grabouw. Each full-service location features a showroom, workshop, and engineering division, backed by mobile service units and strategic stockholding of fast-moving spare parts.
A core focus of the agreement is technical competence. Sales, service, and technical personnel are undergoing structured training programs coordinated through Wacker Neuson Training Manager Lumé Joubert and the Wacker Neuson Training Academy in Johannesburg. In turn, Overberg Agri will offer operator training to local producers, ensuring equipment is used safely, efficiently, and productively to drive sustainable growth across the Western Cape’s agricultural sector.
