NAMPO Cape 2026: Bredasdorp to Host Winter Grain Region’s Premier Agricultural Event

EventsNAMPO Cape 2026: Bredasdorp to Host Winter Grain Region's Premier Agricultural Event

The premier agricultural event in the winter grain region, NAMPO Cape 2026, is set to take place from 9 to 12 September 2026 at Bredasdorp Park. Under the theme “Together We Grow,” this year’s event highlights the vital partnerships across the agricultural value chain necessary to drive the industry forward during economically challenging times.

Spanning 32 hectares, NAMPO Cape 2026 will feature 600 exhibition spaces with more than 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest in agricultural technology, production inputs, and machinery innovation.

Finding Solutions Amid Industry Pressures

The 2026 theme addresses the stark economic realities facing South African producers. Farmers in the winter grain regions are navigating severe financial strain caused by high input costs, weaker commodity prices, elevated financing costs, and policy uncertainty. Recent concerns surrounding the wheat tariff dispensation have further impacted producer confidence in local grain production.

Additionally, livestock producers continue to manage the financial and operational disruptions of Foot-and-Mouth Disease, while infrastructure recovery remains a priority following severe flooding across the Western Cape in May 2026.

Dr Dirk Strydom, Managing Director of NAMPO (Pty) Ltd, emphasized that NAMPO Cape 2026 serves as a critical platform for producers to step out of isolation and engage with the broader value chain.

“NAMPO Cape gives producers the opportunity to engage with the wider value chain and look for practical answers that can strengthen their businesses and their confidence for the seasons ahead,” Strydom noted.

Knowledge Sharing and Key Highlights

NAMPO Cape 2026 will host essential industry discussions at the Santam Auditorium, bringing together representatives from Grain SA, the Red Meat Producers’ Organisation, the Milk Producers’ Organisation, and Vinpro. Highly anticipated dialogue sessions include Nation in Conversation, Food for Mzansi discussions, the Ikusasa Water Wise Centre, and the Protected Vegetable Production Seminar.

While the Land Bank Livestock Tent will feature breeder societies sharing expert knowledge rather than live cattle, sheep, or goats, the event will debut an expanded poultry exhibition and show.

Other key highlights across the four-day event include:

Equestrian Programme: Performances by the South African Lipizzaners, Griffins Horse Archery, and high-energy Mounted Games in the Western Cape Lubricants Arena.
